| Free to a Good Home: 1980 320i Gunmetal Blue Hi,
I have a 1980 Gunmetal Blue 320i available. Present location is just
across the river from Cincinnati in Northern Kentucky, two miles
from downtown.
A brief history is that my Dad bought it new in 1980.
My Dad died in 1990 and I got his car. I drove it for
six years until some rust appeared on the side rail
and around one of the backup lights. I parked it
in 1996 in my parents carport, thinking I'd get around
to repairing the rust spots. I've restored a
couple of British MGs from the ground up, so am capable
of doing the work. Family and work obligations have prevented
me from doing so.
I need to check the following out, but from memory I think
the car has about 125,000 miles on it. I had the engine rebuilt
at around 100K, and the transmission around 110K. Again, thats
from memory from 14 years ago, I need to go check the car to
get the exact numbers.
Car was running fine when I parked it. If you don't want a project
car, it would be a good parts car. Engine and transmission in
good shape. Interior in great shape. The first 14 years the front
seats had those sheep skin seat covers. Hardly anyone has been in
the back seat. Four alloy wheels, possibly five. I think the spare
is on an allow rim. Need to check.
You will need a flat bed trailer to haul it home.
