fog light with no low bean

just did this to the exact thing but it doesnt work, once i plug it back in the low bean lights comes on

Use care when installing K4 because I ran into a issue by pushing forcefully down on the relay, where the low beams came on and stayed on even w/ the keys removed from the ignition. I'm guessing the extra wiring I soldered was pushing up on the base of the relay, causing the internal contacts to touch and engage the low beams. I simply backed off on the install pressure and everything has been fine. Turn on the parking lights + fog switch and enjoy the results."

Your car is an '87, car for the DIY write up was an 89. The 88 and 89 hardtop (coupe/sedan) had different headlights than any of the other year E30's so they had different power/grounds for the headlights. The 88-89 cars had a single element low beam, all the other years had a dual element.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? You want to have the fog lights come on when the parking lights are on and no keys in the ignition? That seems to be, well, pointless. And I hope your goal isn't to be like those punk kids that drive at night with only their fog lights on. There is a reason it's illegal.

here in miami the sun comes dowm at 7:45..well since i have hid's i didnt want to turn them on while the sun is coming down...so i wanted the fog lights to be on while the sun hides.
