Starting Issues:Hello to all my fellow Bimmerites,I'm new here.Please HELP.Veh. is 1982 320i E21 1.8(M10)No spark now.For some time I had a fuse (#3)that would not make a good contact so a simple twist would get me back on the road when veh.would stall due to lack of fuel.Recently car would'nt start,spark was good, twisting fuse #3 did'nt work...I did'nt here the fuel pumps running,I tapped fuel pump relay,twisted fuse,still nothing.I jiggled rear fuel pump wires nothing.Tapped on fuel lines and cracked fuel cap,still no fuel.Finally I Tapped lightly on Fuel Accumulator while a work assoc. turned ignition and off-I went.10 miles up the road it cut-out...Tapped-on fuel accumulator and off-I went...60 miles later I was in my driveway w/no other issues.Next morning kicked over I went to store and stalled in parking lot..Tap Tap and home I brought it...I put new fuel filter and fuel pump on as well as cleaned all connections,turned ignition,and pumps were'nt pumping...I replaced the relay w/an old spare I had from a 318 earlier model,it was the identical pin placemant but had an additional pin in the middle that I broke-off.I jumped in turned the ignition on and pumps ran fine...Now I don't have a spark...Pumps run,volume is good and strong,and plugs where saturated w/fuel when I pulled them(Fuel is getting to cylnders)The Relay I took out was 20 amp the one I put in was 30amp.Most dist.sell both for my year.I purchased a new 20amp relay and now pumps don't run.Since I put new relay in I have'nt checked for spark.But beemer still dose'nt start.What I'm not getting is why when I tapped on the fuel accumulator(Lightly)it seemed to work fine until of course the relay fried.Help.It's my only car...
