Eta and Super Eta (e and es) are VERY similar, but the main difference is that the "es" got the sports package similar to the "is" model, and basically the head from the "i" model engines. So it is kind of a best of both worlds type of car, longer stroke than the "i" motor, for better torque, with the ability to breathe similarly and rev a little more confidently much like the "i" series. The down side is that the stroke is long enough that it is a more confident low revving engine and the valves can float a bit at higher RPM's.
I THINK that is most of it. The sports package is a trim level that would also have included the more advanced Onboard Computer (obc) which calculates MPG and all that good stuff, as well as a leather interior with Recaro bucket seats, I THINK... but check on the sticky thread about the differences between all the e30 models for more detail

as sketch as this may sound, go to a local muffler shop and have them order a magna flow muffler(if they dont already have one), just get a dual tip one, they are actually very good and will give you a good growl.
my friend got one for his eta and it sounds awesome.
