I failed my NJ inspection because of an exhaust leak on my 89 325is. The leak is actually at th coupling between the cat and the exhaust The flanges are toast but I'm pretty sure I have enough good pipe left that I could weld in a coupling to replace the flanges.
What is the OD on the pipes at that point, it is the dual system not the single.
i think its 2 1/4, but not sure, you are prolly missing the rings that go inside the flanges between the cat and the rear section that seal them together, assuming that there isnt a hole or anything of that nature
