The short answer is yes. I plan on doing it soon. Of course, this must be a 6 cyl. M3 engine. The 4 cyl. M3 engine only belongs in the E30 M3, or a 2002. My opinion. Check out these websites.

I plan on buying a Euro M3 engine, and putting it in
<---- the "Turtle", this fall/winter. It's pretty much plug and play. (no extensive fabrication required, except for a custom exhaust.)
