Engine series code for a 1990 325is?

So what is the engine code for a 1990 325is?

i found no listing for 1990 325is in the TIS or ETK. does it exist?

the closest were (for 1990):
325i (M20), 325ix (M20), 320is (S14)

if you specifically want 325is, there is a 1991 model (M50), but that is already e36.

well I'm located in Canada, does that change anything?

ths guy told me it's a 1990 325is... so if there is no such car, I'm not liking this guy so much n

where is the engine code located on the car? on a lable or something? what should I look for?

i thought they made 325is in 1990. i know they didnt in 1991 though. but all E30 325i/is/iC's had M20B25 engines. the M50's began in the E36 or 91 e34's

m20b25 .... the "b25" representing the 2.5L displacment (which is why the 2.7 liter ETA engine is an m20b27)

umm.. i saw an add for a 1990 325is forsale, so I called.

m20b25 .... the "b25" representing the 2.5L displacment (which is why the 2.7 liter ETA engine is an m20b27)

So are there any #'s or markings on the engine to show that it is the M20B25?

you can easily tell by looking at it if its a M20b25, but that doesnt mean its an 'iS'. look for things like basketweave wheels, sport seats, rear spoiler, and iS front lip to tell if its an iS

There was no 325is in 1991. You could get a 325i with the sport package though (everything that effectively made it an "is").

(also, the E36 started in 1992)
