Does anyone know if an engine from a 1990 325is will fit in without conversion to a 1990 325i cabrio?

Dunno. I don't see why not. Same year, same car. I can't believe they'd have made major engine changes just to make the car a 'vert.

shouldn't be a problem, unless you're going auto tran to manual. My '85 has a e30 conversion for stateside and as far as i can tell, all they did was pull the motor, slap on a few emission control systems and slap it back in.
