Electrical problems

Hi and help. I have an 87 325e, already changed the SI batteries, the problem is all the guages except the speedo don't work. They come on for a few seconds when I start the car, the ventilation fan also, then they all shut off. Checked all the fuses, pulled the cluster and the radio and checked for loose wiring, and checked all the ground points, Help please.

Make sure that all three blue, yellow and white plugs are seated all the way in the cluster. Then check your #10 and #21 fuse, after that check your load reduction relays. If all are good you could have a bad solder joint or two on your board.

P.S. If you lose your heater, check to see if you still have reverse lights.

My reverse lights are out, what do you suggest?

The 7.5 fuse does not send power through the electrical system, they sustain the load of the unloader relay, and the relays power several other fuse circuits. So if you are not blowing fuses good chance the the relay or relays are bad.

I forgot electronics 101, it was fuse 21, I had a fuse checker that worked ok, then I remembered to pull the fuse, it was bad, duh. Thanks for the help.
