Ecu Advice Needed!

The stock ECU # is 021. You can't chip this unit!
I have a 027 that I put a chip in.
Are these two units interchangable?
Will I hurt anything trying the 027 out? The car is a 1984 325E.
Please help I want to put this car back together.Thank You-Steve

I believe so you can interchange the 2 units

Makes sense that the two would be interchangeable. The worst that can happen is plug in the chip, connect Motronic, the battery, turn the key, and blink, nothing happens. Then you just put the real chip back in.

The new unit is in and works great!
Everyone who owns an E should chip their car. What a differance. I used a cheap Ebay chip so it only cost me like $45. Big change for cheap. --Steve

I have the installation instructions here. It is the Pro formance performance chip. Manufactured by Pro Formance Performance Engineering.
I found them in ebay. Good Chip. Talked to someone over email before I bought it . They sounded legit. It has a leopard or panther on it.
