E30 Tool Kit Contents

I am hoping you guys can help me out on this. So far I have struck out with BAV Auto and my local dealer.

My 1987 325ic is missing one tool from the kit. And so far every E30 I have looked at is missing the same one .

In the trunk tool kit tray, on the left bottom corner is a spot for an item that is about two inches tall. It kind of looks like a socket but it is about twice as wide at the bottom than at the top. .

So if anyone knows what goes there please tell me. My car is in a BMWCCA clean car contest this Sunday, May 22. It would be nice not to lose points for that open slot.

I am coming to the experts, y'all. Help!

It must be an item that was discontinued. As far as we can recall, nothing was ever in it used

I've looked at quite a few as well. In fact I looked at the tool kit in one just to see if that spot was open. It was. Don't know what to tell you.

The only thing I can think of is maybe a key for rims if you have locks.
