scubadown is an unknown quantity at this point
Hello, New to this forum. Looks like a great site. I have just discovered the steering rack on my 1991 325ic is leaking like a sieve. Both bellows were full of fluid. I have found an on line shop called Griffiths which has rebuilt rack for $280. Is this a reasonably easy remove and replace? I am fairly handy with tool. Are there any tips or tricks.
Thanks

Tom

Haven't had to do that one....yet. The only advice I can give is to get yourself a Bently manual....it will become worth its weight in gold.
I have seen an episode of.....now don't laugh...Two Guys Garage, they may have some information for you online. TLC or Discovery.

Anyways.......

Fairly straight forward job. you will have to loosen the motor mounts to jack the engine up a few inches to clear the rack. probably will need an alignment afterwards. HTH
