E30 Rebuild Thread.

Patient: 1988 325is
Diagnosis: Lack of Oil causing pileup of bearings 4 and 5.

The culprit:

It begins...

Following several hours...

And this...

Led to this...

Parts...

Fresh bearings...

New oil pump and oilpan...

New Head...

Put the rest of the goodies on...

Put it back in...

And put her back on the ground...

All that is left now is getting an exhaust system and hooking it up. Will update as time goes by.

-Dave

I'll say one thing. I LOVE bentley. Without that manual, i wouldn't have been able to do anything. I firmly reccomend it to anyone else interested in doing thier own maintenance.

I still don't know why those Bentley manuals are so expensive. Here we have 3 manuals from different publishers, all about 40 bucks. And they're pretty good, too

yeah so the ireland engineering stork came through yesterday and left me some shorty headers. cute little things, all bubblewrapped and whatnot. strict orders have been given and e30 should roar to live within the week.
