E30 Ignition Lock Cylinder Broke Help!!!

So...long story shor tim stuck 100 miles from home. Cants turn the key to get the car started. Had a copy made. That doesnt work.

Graphite doesnt work.

Need car monday.


Can i drill the lock? Any ideas?

Well thanks for replying everyone...jeez.

So after 3 hours of drilling it myself with Machining drills...I called a lock smith. who spent another hour and a half drilling and prying. Finally the cylinder with the waffers came out. BMW makes locks that are of the highest quality metal apparently.


anywho...if your lock cylinder ever craps out and you are not able to turn it the 60 degrees to pop it out...drill the life out of it. Works best to drill at the sides once you get past the soft metal and into the core.
