i have a 87' 325 with a 2.7 , i am wanting to know whats the best way to brighten my head lights ? angel eyes ? lipsoids ? and where can i get them cheap and how easy is it ? thanks alot guys .....lilpaul325
One day while trolling the salvage yard, I found a 633 with four Hella H4s using the sealed beam mounting rings.
Reaction: wide-eyed à la Eddie Murphy in SNL's Mister Robinson's Neighborhood (just kidding -- I stayed cool but worked fast to get them off).
I installed them in my 91 318i with only one twist to get all of them to work, and that was to put in 10A fuses at #1 and #2 (high beams) in the fuse box.
I felt the same way about my headlights....they were the only complaint I had with my '86 e30. I replaced the lenses with these(they are E-code, but project WAY more light): • Hella 5 3/4 inch Round E-Code Headlamps
I use Yellow h4's in them that are rated above the standard output as well.
This place is prompt and very helpful, I got my stuff pretty quickly as well.

I don't see the same bulbs in there any more that I got. I'm pretty sure that law states something like 55/65W or something like that. I'm thinking that the H4's I have are 65/75's or 65/80's...I just know that they are above the Canadian stipulated rating, south of the border I couldn't say

What I meant is are there any fitment or power problems like you technically can't put them in there?
I have never heard of such issues. AFAIK, the Hella lights are specifically made to address the useless sealed beams - which should be banned from existence.

I dropped mine in last summer...so far, so good. Like WS says, ditch sealed beams, they are pretty well the closet things to useless as tits on a Nun.
