Just curious to see what kind of numbers you get with which engine and what kind of driving you all do?
I drive about 130 miles a day, 90% of the driving is 80-100mph and average 21mpg in the '89 325i automatic.
I only use 87 octane fuel, she has 169k miles, and now that I replaced damn near everything other then the actual engine, still runs great.

91 318is & it is need of a tnue up. I am getting 33 Mpg right now on 87 octane. I am planning on trying diffrant fuel grades to see if there is any change in gas milage.
'85 325e 4spd auto driven imostly in the city, average speed likely 55-60km/h. Depending on my driving style (it varies greatly) I get between 8.75 to 10kms out of a litre of fuel.

Not to start an argument, but wrongo. On the highway they were rated for 37mpg, wheras in the city they only managed 25mpg, both figures with a manual tranny. The automatic only dragged it down about 1mpg in both accounts. I can post the Motor Trend article to prove it if need be.

Whoops. The real numbers are actually 22 city/36 hwy for the automatic. Here's the article, I've seen it on various sites as "Originally Appeared In Motor Trend" I think. Could be wrong, but I know it's out of a magazine. Whoever put it up even scanned in the pics for us.
