e30 fuelpump?

took my fuel filter off turned key over to initiate line prime & no spray
tried to start it & ended up covered.
this would mean the pump is dead & the engine is pushing out the excess that was pressurised (4 fuel lines front to back? wtf?)
ideas???

When changing the fuel filter your supposed to remove the gas cap to depressurize the system. Why would you "prime the line" with no filter in?

to see if the fuel pump is actually working before i have to drop the tank

On an E36 you don't have to drop the tank. The fuel pump is under the rear seats. Check the Bentley manual to see of its the same on the E30.

that so woulda helped a couple days ago.
somebody covered it with the black adheisive foam. couldnt see it, dropped tank. 2 days work coulda been done in 45 min
anyway fuel pump is good.
think security is not letting electrical pulse to injectors to open up?
