| This is more speculative than something I intend to do in the near future. I think the e30 chassi/body are the best and want to find a well kept M3 body. Since the only cheap ones are the one with blown engines or unreliable engine accessories (pumps, cooling systems etc.) I am wondering whether I can buy a wrecked modern M3 or 325 engine and all (transmission, radiator, alternator etc.) and fit it all in. Has anyone done this before? It sounds like a pretty cool project even if it costs quite a bite of money. Even if it fits what other considerations would be needed; I can think of wieght distribution, frame torsion, but I am sure there are plenty of other. Anyway I just thought it would make a good discussion topic, who knows maybe I will be able to pull it off next year.
By the way thanks to all who replied to a previous posting of mine concerning the widebody's -I'll keep you updated but I think it was a custom job.
Cheers,
Chris. |
