My door chime on my e30 stays on when the doors are open and closed and even when i am driving i tried to disconnect the thing in the door that makes it turn on but it kept chiming so finally i took out the fuse for it and now i have no radio. So i was wondering if anybody has had that problem and know how to fix it? I just got rear ended the other day and it has been happening since then could that have made it happen? perhaps the cls? I look forward to your posts.
i dont have a door chime.... but something sorta related, is when you open a door the map light is supposed to go on, and it usually comes on quickly for the passenger side, but when you open the driver's side door, it doesnt go on for like 15 seconds....

I know dumb idea.........I do however need my door chime to work and uh it doesn't, because today someone was working on my car and when I test drove it the GD pass. door flew open. What fuse operates the door chime? My chime is plugged in maybe it just doesn't work. Time for a new chime...yeah.:

My door chime works, he he. One of the pigtails was not plugged in. Even fixed the damn passenger seat.

If your interior lights are not working right you probably need a new light control module. Its under the speaker in the drivers lower kick panel. When the light control module is working properly your lights will come on right when any door is opened. Also when it is working properly the lights will stay on for about 8-10 seconds after the drivers door is closed. Opening and closing the drivers door is the only door that activates this feature, the lights will instantly go off when any of the passenger doors are opened and closed. BMW did this so that when you get in the car the lights stay on so you can see where the key goes. Also in the later cars there is a micro switch in the drivers door handle that will activate the interior lights. When the doors are locked and you lift up on the drivers handle the lights will come on for 8-10 seconds just like when you open the drivers door. Rarely does that feature work in an E30 cause the pieces are usually missing due to a past door lock repair.
Kool
I was wondering what that stupid little box was that looked like a micro tweeter.
Are there more of them?
Mine doesnt work either.
I sprayed the shit out of all the connectors, relays etc in the column, etc and it fixed a few electrical problems last time I was up in there. Used Electronic parts cleaner, it resurected my electric mirrors too. plus some WD-40 after the cleaning.
Maybe I'll look at the chime again next time. Trace the wires and look for the relays. Did the OBC light last week, kool.
Anybody know how to fix the door thingy that keeps it from closing on your leg/feet when you get in.
My passenger side works but not the drivers side?
I'd much rather have this right than the chime, LOL

You don't fix it just replace it, the N shapped springs breaks. They fit for both left and right, you just have to pull your door pannel off, two 10mm then tap the pin out. Install, done. Keep a rag handy.
