E30, check engine light

My 1990 E30 gets a check engine light at idle sometimes, and it seems to only get it when idling for a while, but as soon as i rev the engine, it goes away. What can cause this kind of check engine light?

Have you heard of the "stomp test" before? Stomp the pedal to the floor 5 times in 5 seconds and it will display a fault code. Stomp it down again 5 times in 5 seconds for the next code until you see "1000". Below is a link to common E30 fault codes

what happend is that you had a fault code in your engine system.
