E30 325i Motor Swap Options?

Coming from the world of Volkswagen where just about every motor fits in any model with varying difficulty... are there any options for 325 owners out there? I read a while back that some guys manage to fit a late 80's M5 engine... but what about E36-based motors? ...or any other series motors for that matter?

I mean, how sick would an E30 325i be with a N/A E36 M3 engine on ITB's be?

Sure that may be a streatch, but I am seriously looking for options here. I have the ability to purchase a 325 with a good body, but with a warn motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everything you mentioned there has been done, and then some. This board is just slow. My car is a 87 325is with a 95 M50 single vanos with 95 M3 cams and a TMS custom chip for this combo.
