and that is commonly referred to as a "shortblock" if it has the bottom end in it.

$450? thats a tad high for just a block, you can get a complete M20 for $450

Where can you get a complete M20 for $450? i've never seen one for under $1200. Or do you mean short block?

I paid $800 for a running 89 325i, used it for a year then I gave it to my little brother. You can buy whole cars twice as nice for $1200
