Dueling V6 Mustangs In E30's

Anyone ever raced any interesting cars before in their e30's? Had an interesting rolling start race the other day with a mid/late 90's v6 mustang on the highway on my 89 325i auto and we were pretty dead even til about 90mph when I started to take him as I started to get deeper into my revs and my engine started to come alive.

Curious what other peoples results have been?

E30 is no race car, and i have to keep that in mind when i wanna out pace them.

two i can really remember was with a lowered red pick up truck, an S10 i think. we started at a red light. i put my automatic in sport and nailed it to the floor. i saw him in my rearview stop and turn right into the goodwill!

another was aganist a cavalier Z24, that was close, but ended up taking her in her manual z24 up a hill, and merged onto the highway.

nothing to impressive, but its kinda fun!

Actually I think the E30 is a quite good race car, just not drag racing.

well me have was playing with a like a 96 maxima i kept passing him and then let him catch up it was weird that car has to be faster than e30 but i thinck he was just scared to go faster than 100mph. then another time i destoryed like 2000 impala i dont know mabey the people just had no clue what they were doing i felt good though lol pce out

just killed a im guessing a nintey nine escalede(spelling??) i say nintey nine cause it was was his plate number. but gave him the jump i pasted him when i was about at 45-50 i think i could have past him sooner but i think in 3rd i redlined it cause my tach light is out and we were going down(the street or strip goes down then up) so i still felt i was moving but if i didn't great and first i had shifted at 1500 too. and in first i get crazy amount of torque!! it was a nice kill take that escalede(spelling??) with dual exhaust!!

Well, given a two second head start, a kid in a '90 Mustang with 5.0L badges on it couldn't catch up with me. Either he wasn't giving it his all, or German horses are way better than American ones.

if it was a really a 5.0 he was probably just messing wit you cause they came with 225 HP @ 4000 RPM, 300 ft/lb @ 3000 RPM those are stock numbers the e has a nice amount of torque thou i will give u that

i crushed a shitty old early 90's ford explorer a while ago. it wasnt too exciting after i got out of first gear. but hey, he chose to race me on that one.

In my friends Turbo Dinan E30 we beat a SVT Cobra, the 2001 model so it's not the 390hp one, a new stock sti, highly modified wrx, highly modified h22 prelude, my car haha, and my friends twin turbo civic... his car owns :P

I never posted the video yet, but I have a 2+ hour video of us out fucking around in it that I need to edit down and get the get stuff out of.. been really busy lately and haven't had the time The whole engine was now rebuilt, ported/polished and stroked (to what specs I don't know). He has a full Dinan Turbo boost setup with custom software and everything imaginable for the car and can run up to 17lbs of boost, but usually runs around 11 to be safe :P It was just dynoed again for the first time since the car was bought new by Dinan and ran at 401whp and 384lbs of torque at 11psi and 431whp and 303 torque at 17psi :P

He's right, that car does own. Right on man. I've always wanted to see the E30 style machines with a shitload of power under the hood. E30 is the best looking 3 series IMO.
