Hey, my name is andrew and i just picked up an e30. its a 1987 4door auto 325i, and ive collected most of the parts to do a trans swap(trans, driveshaft, clutch, pressure plate, rear diff). im doing the trans swap because the car is in great condition and i could not find one that was manual in anywhere near as good condition.
anyway i picked up a driveshaft, but i need to replace the Center Support Bearing because it is in bad condition. but i was wondering how exactly to take apart the driveshaft. there is a small piece that goes around the driveshaft right near the center support bearing that has a hex on it for a wrench im guessing

, do i need to loosen that? if i do will it just slide apart?
