Door lock cylinder-removal

Trying to remove my drivers door lock cylinder on my 86 325e. I have followed the haynes to the point where you need to "use a screwdriver to remove lock cylinder retaining clip" I cannot see any retaining clip as there are only 3 small holes to see and work through. Has anyone ever successfully removed one of these clips, and can you give me an idea of how you achieved this.

Was the Inside Door Panel hard to take off? I have a lock problem too!! Read my Post 1/13/2012 Hoopster....

Are you saying that you sorted it? If not...

Door panels are popped on, just the screw for the door-release trim, and be careful of the wiring behind it !
