Dismantling the interior.

There are a few things inside my car that I want to take off, but don't know how. I'm petrified of using force because, as I have mentioned before, my father will shoot me. Or something bad like that.

1, the seatbelt buttons. The red paint is chipped and all sorts of faded, so I'd like to paint them a flat black. Problem - can't find a way to pull them out of the housing, or take the box itself out. I don't like the idea of prying, because of all the tiny mechanicals in there.

2, the front kick panels. New speakers.

3, the instrument panel. I noticed that there are two screws at the top of the lining, but unscrewing both of them didn't make anything easier to move. I want to take whatever is necessary off so that I can redo the gauge-face lighting.

I'm sure I'll think of other stuff.

I happen to have my kick panel out so I took a pic. (Driver Side)

1. Where the 2 yellow circles are there are two screws that need to be removed, they hold on the hood release.

2. Where the red circle is, there is a screw there.

3. Where the area circled by green, is where weather stripping goes just pull it ou of the way.

That should remove your kick panel. Same for the passenger side just omit step one.

for the seatbelts i guess they dont come out... just tape everything up really good and give it a try... sand it up a little before hand

Too bad the new speakers don't fit.

I think I'll just hand-paint the seatbelt buttons, I'd hate to get paint on anything inside the car.
