3-Series (E21, E30)Chat relating to the BMW 3-Series from 1975-1983 and 1984-1991 line. Specific models: BMW 315, BMW 316, BMW 318, BMW 318i, BMW 320/4, BMW 320i, BMW 320/6, BMW 323i, BMW 320i. E30 Family models include: BMW 325e, BMW 325i, BMW 325is, BMW 325ix.
Hope somebody can help. I am looking for a diff with a ratio lower than 3.14:1 ideally around 2.8:1. This is not for use in a BMW, but within a racecar. I have been told that there maybe something suitable. Ideally an LSD.
Excuse my ignorance, but I know next to nothing about the BMW marque
I believe the e30 eta models (325e and 325es) have a 2.7:1 differential.

I think the "is" or sport models have a smaller differential. They come with a close ratio gearbox with a 1 - 1 final drive ratio in the transmission. Of course I dont know if this is true, its just something I read somewhere.

i think earlier eta's had around a 2.73, while later eta's 86-88 had 2.93. I know the 2.93's had LS as a option, but i'm not sure about the earlier ones.
