We just purchased a 1988 325. While shopping for some parts, we noticed that some sites don't list 325 as an option - just 325i and 325e. The manual that came with the car lists 325, 325i (and a couple of others) but not the 325e. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I finally figured out the differences. Thanks for the information.
The 325 has a different engine than the 325i. The 325 has a 2.7L six, lower reving, lower HP than the 2.5 in the 325i. BMW just left off the "e" on this paticular model and year for some reason, but it is the same as "e"s in other years.

ok the 325(super eta) has more hp then 3 less then i. it has the parts from i mostly the throttle body, exhaust, headers, and other parts here and there. there are parts you can get for this car that will fit if you put in 325i on the websites for parts. these cars are great for turbocharging cause of there high low end torque and there great compresion rartio, also you can also do what a few people have done and thats put e bottom i top. i have 1 she's a beauty(daniels starts to hum song let me tell you bout my best friend)

You sound like the reason I stayed away from BMW for so long.
