Alright i have a 1990 325i. Lately i have been noticing this rattling sound coming from the left rear wheel. So today i took off the wheel and checked the anti rattle clip and all the wires runnin down around the wheel like brake sensor etc.., nothin seemed loose. So i gave the rotor a few bangs with my fist and sure enough there came the sound. It's not the wheel bearing because those were recently replaced. I am gunna take off the wheel and rotor and look inside there. Do you guys have any idea what the noise could be? Also do u know where i could find a diagram of all the parts of the hub assembly-That would be great-Thanks

My E brake does not work so that could be a possibility, I still think that its inside the Hub, you know where the rear axle hooks to the wheel, i don't know... have to do some investigating i guess ghead

Do u have to take apart the suspension to see the bushing or are they visible. I dont really know what the noise is from, i will probably take apart the hub still

honestly Im not exactly sure..I just know its teh bushings...cause my dad said so...he was a mechianic...so Ima trust what he says...I think you would need to take somethings apart..buy a book on your car...uhm I forget the name... asdk someone whats the best BMW book...i cant think of the name...but buy one of those.
I have a BMW shop manual and a haynes manual which sucks, but the shop manual shows very descriptive pictures and tells you aboput everything, hopefully i can get the noise to disappear.

Yea i figured it out. It was the e brake. It was this little metal thing that when u pull on the e brake it tightens the pads. I tightened it up and the rattle is gone... Thank God.. it was starting to piss me off.
