| Recently, my 1984 325E started making a banging noise from the cruise control module on the left inner fender. The sound goes away when either the brake or clutch pedal is depressed (disengages the servo). As the car gathers speed, the noise goes away. The problem is intermittant, happening every few weeks. If the control module above the motronic computer was bad, wouldn't it be a constant problem?
