Coolant loss when engine turned off

Hi,
does anyone know what is happening? Temperature guage is normal, but as soon as I switch off the engine after running for an hour or so, then coolant leaks from the pressure valve (several pints). I assume that as soon as I switch off the engine then the engine heat is boiling the water but what is occuring that doesn't under normal operation? I have no idea .....

yeah, I know what's going on...you have too much water and not enough antifreeze in your system. The steam from boiling water seeps after shutdown...antifreeze is also antiboil.....I'd change the coolant altogether after tightening all of the hose clamps and see what happens...good luck

You may also find a new radiator /expansion tank cap may be a good idea too.
