| i have also a 1992 325i (it is still the M20 E30 model) and it has automatic convertible top. yesterday while closing it, the part that raises and lowers the top cover (looks like a metal flap with a circular hole in the middle and attaches to the rear wall of the top compartment) just broke off the circular holder and now the top cover won't open and close automatically! does any one know how to replace the part or where to get a new one???
also there is a switch in the trunk that i think changes the top operation from manual to automatic (since i dont have the manual i dont know what exactly it does) but i switched it so now the top can be moved manually, but i was wondering how to put it back to automatic operation mode? is that something that can be doene easily??
since now some of the rails are in the way of the top to actually go down into the compartment, i cannot even pack it inside it!! its really weird but i dont have any manual for this.
if anyone has any information, i would be very greateful!!!
