Convertable Top Won't Open - BMW Forum

My 1991 325IC convertable top stopped working. Put the top up to wash the car then it would not go down. No noise or anything. Must be electrical. Which relay/fuse controls the motors? Is there neutral switch. I have a Bentley manual but it doesn't seem to have a schematic. Maybe a micro switch went bad? Any help would be appreciated.

What does "cut it off" mean? Do you mean turn it into a manual top?

the conventional wisdom is to convert it to a non-power top. If you want to keep it as a power top, there is a lot of info at. bmwe30ic : BMW E30 Convertibles

I dunno if the electrical is the same, but i had a similar problem with a '95 of the same model. The top sometimes won't shut all the way, then if you drive it with the top partially p or down, it has an automatic disengage. The best thing to do is to disengage all power to it, open and close it manually, then put power back to it. This usually fixes the problem.
