How would I know if I need new control arms & bushings?
Are they difficult to install for a do it yourselfer?
Another question while I have your attention. Sometimes if I go over a series of bumps I get a "chatter" sound from my steering wheel colum. The steering wheel does not shake but that internal chattering sound is making me crazy!!!! Any thoughts??
I've had a "chatter" ( I guess it can be described as that) in my steering column too. Sounds like something is loose? While I was doing brakes on it, I found that the bushing on the control arm are completly shot, hence the loose sound. I have been looking as well for parts. I think I even posted once a few weeks ago and I am in the process of trying to find that for the replies. One guy suggested ebay for a reputable dealer....but I could not find any there this morning.
Biggest problem from what I have heard (have not attempted yet) nis trying to get at the nut where the arm mounts to the body. BMP has them for $76 USD and $90 with the offset bushings.

Thank you for the reply.
I was told awhile back that I could use new control arms & bushings. Seems to make sense.
just make sure you get the whole control arm assembly with the bushings and all, it's not really that hard to change
