yes i am completely stopped when i go to reverse.
i go to my car sit down start it, put the clutch down try for reverse but it wont allow me to it just grinds i have to put it back in neutral then try again some times up to 3 tries.

i have been told that it sounds like the clutch is not disengageing completely.....and this morning i tried seven times to get it into reverse and it would not go at all
If they go under the clutch pedal remove them and try It could be that... also sounds like you might need a new Clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder....pump the clutch up and down a shit load fast then try it... if it helps it is a hydrolic issue...

being an E21 im assuming its a mechanical clutch not hydraulic right?

its not the clutch master cylinder because its a mechanical clutch.....no its not the floor mats in the way...the clutch goes all the way to the floor.
im not sure wut kind of fluid though. i bought it from a guy who only drove it like once a month for the past five years.
where can i buy redline? autozone?

AHHH sorry thought it was Hydro... e21's are new to me i thought they where more like e30's.... where does the clutch engage? low? high? I dont know if there is an adjustment for it maybe bring the release point up a bit... and yes Redline does wonders My e30 use to grind into second and changed it and no more grind...

redline is usually found at most performance auto shops...i know car quest carries it, and a few local hot rod shops
lil redline MT90 works wonders
