| Hi, I am considering buying a BMW 318i, 1985, 136k (low) miles, with power windows, ac, sunroof, little or no rust that I noticed on the body (owned mainly in Texas and New Mexico). The clutch has a hydraulic leak since you have to pump it when you first get in. It runs, beyond that the owner states it needs a tuneup. It was last registered in 2003, so it has not been sitting that long I guess (carfax report).
Are clutch hydraulic leaks hard to fix? Could I do it myself?
Are parts hard to get and expensive for BMW's sometimes? Generally not? The other car I have (which needs a lot of work to restore) is a 1973 VW Fastback, and it has been very easy to find parts for cheap.
I want to learn how to fix cars, it is a hobby I am working on. Would this be a good car to restore and learn on? From what I read I think it would be awesome!
Thanks. |
