Looks like you would probably benifit from a major tune up and a O2 sensor and start running premium if you arn't already. My 89 325i with over 200K miles on the orginal CAT measured way less than the average when I smogged it back in April.

My car didnt pass...not happy about that.
but can a preformance chip have anything to do with that? Jw, cause i might need a tune up...and thats something i cant do by myself, and would rather not spend the money at the moment; of course something to put on my todo list.

The valves are golden, probably need a new o2 but what's the point? This motor is going to be for like what? A month or two? Come on.

probably not, depends on whose it is, BMW claims it should not affect smog at all with the Dinan chip...

I think there was a different kind of chip in it, cuz the one I have in it now runs it like a champ. It's good.

exactly, who needs to pass SMOG anyways....even though I live in a city that was rated to have the worst air in the country...but, on a good note, we were also rated as the city with the lowest crime rate in the country....worst air, least crime...

I'd prefer to get stabbed every once in a while and live longer cancer free lives.
