CHECK LIGHTS

My check lights blink a lot sometimes, and my mpg needle thing doesnt work at all, it is iether at o, 40 or 25 mpg, and it bounces back and forth a lot, what causes this? how can it be fixed?

It sounds like a bad ground wire. I'd take a look at a wireing diagram to see if those components share a ground, or maybe a power wire.

Your MPG needle is working just fine. Mine's does the exact same thing (89 325i) and it fluctuates as I'm accelarating or letting off the gas pedal. But it usually settles into a certain place once you remain at a constant speed. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. 3two5

By the way, does your "check light" go out once you press on the brake? The "check light" will always come on the second you start the car and will go out the second you press on the brake to shift into a gear. I hope this helps.............3two5

I know its suppose to change, I am not that fucking retarded, lol. But it goes abnormally fast, and when my little 5 green lights come on, the mpg thing flickers, and when it stays at an MPG its always the EXACT same place, it never varies, I know its abnormal, I was just wondering how it could be fixed.
