i just found some nice 17" wheels for $100 a piece, i think im gonna buy those and just use my 16s for winter. It pays to have a dad in the parts business where he can buy stuff from the distributor for cost.

on to the question now...

which winter tires would y'all recommend? i'm looking at hakkipellitans (sp?)
this will be my first ful winter in the e30 and just wondering if you have any tips for winter driving the 325 (sandbags, studs, snowmobile tracks, etc. ) bonus that i have LSD

In England, we tend to use standard tyres and put a bit of weight in the trunk.
Our raods are treated with a mixture of salt and grit which helps with traction but rots cars really badly.
I always have new tyres in November and tend to find I'm OK
