Central Locking

1990 325ic.Been here before but I am still locked out and do not wish as ye to go to indy tech.. Pasenger door will not unlock by any means, trunk unlocks, drivers door will lock by push button and unlock by key or push button, but will not lock by key. I have had the CLCU out and it looks good, the drivers door lock solenoid looks gnarly but I cleaned it up and reinstalled, door key lock looks good and has good spring tesion. I just do not know how to electricaly test the components but I suspect the passenger door is double locked and one of the power components is bad. Question, if I remove the lock cylinder should I not be aboe to lock and unlock drivers door with the little fork assembly on the lock assembly that the key locck finger fits into? Oh, all fuses are good.

Yes without the barrel in the catch and the motor will operate but that’s what you are doing then you lock it with the button. The wiring isn’t to bad to test the driver’s motor has 2 inputs one to lock one to deadlock and one out put which is lock the deadlock is signalled from the micro switch mounted to the barrel Unlock is done by reversing the polarity

Thanks for the responses, I do have the FAQ and tech tips. I am going for a used (BAV AUTO Recycling) clcu as it appears to be dead.
