Catalytic Converter

I received a code for failed catalytic converter. I took it to my dealer who replaced it at substantial cost. About three days later the code came back and I found out that I have two converters (one for cylinders 1-3 and one for 4-6) and the other one is failed.

My question: Should my dealer have known that the other one was failing or had already failed and would the labor portion now be duplicated to replace the this one?

Thanks for any insights.

i don't think that'll necessarily fly unless you bitch them out hard!
i don't think they look at every little detail of your car to see if it'll fail or not.
With that said, i believe that if the problem is not fixed within 3 visits, then they'll pay for it, but that's about it.

How much did you pay? if it's not a secret? i need to replace both of mine in near time i believe.
