Car trouble

Hello,
I have an 89 325i. The car always ran great. All of a sudden, it began giving me trouble. Every once in a while while I am driving, it seems to lose power (not electrical) almost like it is slipping out of gear.
It seems to only happen in 4th gear. Sometimes it stalls out when this happens.
Am I looking at tranismission problems?
Anyone have any idea what might be going on? Is there anything I can try to remedy this problem?
Any help would be great.

That has sorta happened to me, but after I pressure washed the engine, it just had some moisture in it, so it was just like "vuuhrroooom...uh uh u uh..vuurroooom", like you go fine, then it seems like its sorta losing power, but it went away after lik 30 min, but I dunno where to help you there bud, sorry.

I also have a similar problem but my car bogs like its out of timming or something, I also have an 89 325i and its bugging the shit outta me. I cant find what the hell is wrong with my car, I replaced the engine and transmission (not because of that) but it was doing it before. I'm going to get a diagnostic done on it saturday, I'm thinking its a sensor or something. I will post the result of the diagnostic done on Monday... ghead
