3-Series (E21, E30)Chat relating to the BMW 3-Series from 1975-1983 and 1984-1991 line. Specific models: BMW 315, BMW 316, BMW 318, BMW 318i, BMW 320/4, BMW 320i, BMW 320/6, BMW 323i, BMW 320i. E30 Family models include: BMW 325e, BMW 325i, BMW 325is, BMW 325ix.
What are some typical causes of my car running lean. I'm not to fimiliar with this. Could it be in relation to the boggy feeling at low RPM's?

I live my life one quarter mile at a time, and for those 23 or more seconds I'm free.
already changed the fuel filter and o2 sensor, i checked the lines for pressure and seem good so i'm assuming nothing is clogged, and the injectors i'm assuming are fine, the were tested when i did the motor last year, and have ran injector cleaner through them a couple times since then but make one of them went

you can smell it, a rich fuel smell from the exhaust

Well I have the same problem... does your car wastes more gasoline that ususal? Mine is, I can smell it out of the exhaust. Tell me if you fix it because I cant find the problem.
lok once again if ur car is wasting gas easier...than normal. then that means too much fuel is going to the motor...

well it seemed to me that u guys had it backwards...but ok np. a solution is to check ur air filter and see if u need a new one. it also depends on the climate. do u have a carburator on ur car or a fuel injection?

i've done all the check up things, filter, injector cleaner, fuel filter, plugs and so on.
i'm looking for an internal problem.
Of course it's fuel injected i'm pretty sure all E30's are as well as all other BMW's

actually I thought the 325 (Without I designation) was a carbourated model. The i was (to my understanding.) to stand for injected, like fuel injected. So I mean... I guess that was just my immedeate deduction. Anyhow, I'm not often right. :P
lol well that is alot of help, but then it isnt...if its carburated then it culd be an adjustment depending on the climate...
