Car Makes Sounds When I Turn The Wheel?

while the car is on and its just parked, if i turn the wheel left or right its makes a type of deep sqealing sound, kinda like SHHHHHEEEEEEEE? i remeber my moms Ford used to do that but my dad just squezed some stuff next to the tires and its all fine. could my car has the same probelm.

pop your hood and add some ATF (automatic tranny oil) to your power steering fluid resivior, and then the noise will go away. if it returns you either have a leak or a power steering pump thats gone south

how does that help also will it harm anything?

no it wont harm anything the ATF is supposed to put in the powersteering says so in the bmw manuel and on the cap. and its doing that because the pump doens't have enough fluid to pump because its low. and it makes that sound when the fluid is low.
