I am pretty sure it is the E30 body and they switched to E36 in 1994.

That is the problem. There is a person in the E36 forums looking to buy a 1993 325ic(that is what the guy selling it is calling it, he is a mechanic too). But the person buying it says it has the E36 body style. I looked it up on kelleybluebook and autotrader plus did a google search and it shows that 1993 convertibles are still E30 and in 1994 they are E36. I was just hoping that someone here had a 1993 convertible and so could straighten this whole thing out.

I told him to just check the door sill and he will know exactly when it is manufactured.

Yes, in 1993 a US BMW 325ic was the E30 body style. I have one. BMW changed to the E36 body style in the convertibles in 1994.

1/93 should've been the last e30 to be produced, so he is right it should be an e36 unless it was built in jan. '93
