Hello

I would like to have advise on air conditioning failure for my BMW 325 89 R12 .
What fuses should I use and numbers corresponding to it.
Receiver/dryer glass shows bubbles, when I dissconect the wire from cut off switch the engine idle speed noticed a difference. when I tried to press on the input
adapter on the hose close to the right fender, it seems that there is a fereon there. I would appreciate your help in detailed explanation.

My other concern, Can I switch to freeze 12 without flushing the system and if i have to flush the seystem mean to let the fereon out .

Freeze 12 can be added to R-12 systems with out a conversion. However freeze 12 is also bad for the ozone layer. The most common problem with BMW A/C systems are that the expansion valve gets choked up, and won't let freon in the evaporator. Go to your local mechanic and have him do an A/C performance check.

At any rate, the A/C system is a completly enclosed system, meaning if it's low on freon, there is a leak. But with out the proper guages, (over 150 for a good set) you won't be able to check to see if it's low. If you have a leak I would advise that you have dye added to the A/C system have it recharged then drive it, the longer it works the smaller the leak. The most likely area leaks are is in the evaporator. If it is, don't get up set though, unlike may other cars out there you don't have to remove the dash to change it. An experenced mechanic can change one out in about 2 hours + recharge (been there, done that)
