Buying a used engine

Does anyone have any advice on picking a yard to buy a used engine from? I'm looking to buy an M42 engine for a 91 318i. I've found 2 prospective sellers, both in California, both claim the motors compression tested above 200psi, both say they have 90 day warranties. One is B M Tech in Rancho Cordova CA, the other is Sierra Auto Parts in Arroyo-Grande CA

Any advice? I'm in Alaska, so buying local is not an option.

I tore apart my old motor, and between needing all new timing components(chain, all gears, all guides), and possibly needing to bore and buy new pistons, I decided a motor swap might be the way to go.

I know Bavarian Auto in Rancho Cordova sells used and rebuilt engines and Vines in Alabama is a good salvage parts provider (both have web sites).
