buying a 325es any tips?

ok so I found a 325es BMW and im pretty sure it comes withe the M20B25 engine.
I dont know anything bout the 3-series because im more into the 5

but aside that 3series are nice also.

its a 1986, comes with 250k+ miles on it . its an automatic and the guy wants $1300 USD.
all electrical everything works on it.
only thing i did not like was that there is a knocking/clicking sound when i pop the hood.
so im just wondering if anyone has owned this car before and what i should look for on the car. what are the goods and bad.

Do you mean 1986? The 325e or es would have the 2.7L eta engine.

i drive a 325e and it has the 2.7 liter. After a while the lifters start to make a little noise but it's nothing to bad. I love the car.
