Hi there !
I have always admired Bmw's cars, and I now have the opportunity to buy one. The car is a 2 door BMW 320I from 1979 with a 2,0L engine, and a 5 speed manual tranny with 4 (from '79?)BBS mags*Edit: Forgot to add that the car is a ''30th anniversery special edition''*. The car have over 200 000 Kilometers on the odometer.
I would buy the car in remplacement to my thrusted Oldsmobile 88 Delta 1993 (auto, 160 000kilo). As I need to drive my car to go to my job, I need a reliable car that will get me from point A to point B, in Quebec's conditions (meaning: the road are full of holes, and there's snow 6 month out of 12), Ahah.
I don't know that much about that 320I, and I was wondering if you guys could give me some input on the reliability/ more common issues with this king of car. This way I will be able to get the price lowered if I see anything suspect when i'm going to test-drive it. Oh, and btw, the seller ask 2000$Can, but seems to be pretty open because he need to sell fast (new house I think, anyway)
I wouldn't want to buy the car just because it's written BMW on the trunk and end-up with a car I can't trust and that is going to fall apart. On the other hand, I realize the car is 30 years old and have over 200 000km, and I can deal with minor (ie: non-frequent, not expensives) repairs.
Thanks a lot for your time.
