I just bought my first BMW, a '90 325i. I don't have an owner's manual and I can't seem to figure out what a couple of the buttons do. There is a button to the right and one to the left, just above the shifter. What do they do? I tried them pressed in and let out, and they don't seem to do anything. Thanks for your help.

The power window buttons are below the shifter (closer to the driver), the buttons I'm talking about are above the shifter.

4-door or two?

if it's a 4-door & one of the buttons you're asking about is square, not rectangular, push it so it's popped OUT, get in the back seat & try to roll down the rear windows... bet cha they won't go down. it's a rear window lock button.

the other one, if it's rectangular, is probably the window fuse breaker... press that one so it's popped out & none of em will work

i used to have a '90 325i... it had some electrical probs for the windows from time to time but of the buttons you are describing, the driver side button seemed to lock my power windows... again i dont know if that was an electrical problem or if it was its original function... now have an 86 TC baur... kickin car
